I am a painter and graphic designer who has lived and worked in Washington, DC for over 37 years. My paintings are about the moment, the immediacy of paint applied honestly, thickly and emotionally on canvas. I strive to convey a textural quality to the surface with layers of color and an emphasis on capturing light.
I have always loved to spend time outside so much of my work is based on nature and all its power. My sources of inspiration come from the greater Washington, DC area and my travels both nationally and internationally. My current work is a combination of plein air and studio painting in oil with an occasional gouache. Please enjoy viewing my work and let me know what you think.
